SEA KAYAK RENTALS

When you rent a sea kayak from Discovery Islands Lodge, you’re already in the heart of one of Vancouver Island’s great wilderness kayak touring areas!

Discovery Islands Lodge is pleased to offer a wide variety of late model, state of the art Canadian sea kayaks. These stable kayaks are made for touring and come fully equipped with a light weight paddle, spray deck, PFD (lifejacket), self-rescue device, spare paddle and chart.

Most of our staff live right here in the Quadra Island area and have years of kayaking experience.

We can help you choose sea kayaking tours or routes to suit your abilities and time frame.
We can also provide you with charts, location of drinking water and help you understand tide and current tables.

When you’re ready to go, use our dock as your departure point.
There is parking nearby.

Single Kayaks
Per day $50
Per 5 days $225
Each additional day $45

Double Kayaks
Per day $85
Per 5 days $395
Each additional day $78

6% GST and 7% PST will be added to prices.

A kayak rental day is from 9 AM to 5 PM.
Multi-day rental starts at 9AM and finishes 5 PM the last day.

Important Notes:
• Knowledge of sea kayak rescue skills is essential!
• You may be asked to demonstrate proficiency.
• A liability waiver must be signed.
• Unaccompanied minors may not rent kayaks.

Reservations: Please book ahead for sea kayak rentals.
When we receive your reservation, we will commit to having your requested equipment available on the dates reserved.
• Credit card deposit is required for 25% of rental cost or minimum $50.
• Balance of payment and security deposit will be taken at start of rental.

Cancellation: Please be sure of your dates and plans!
When we reserve a sea kayak for you, we cannot have it available for anyone else, so cancellations will be subject to the following charges. Prior to the rental:
• 30 days or more: charge equivalent to one day of rental
• 29 - 7 days: 50% of rental cost
• Within 1 week: full rental cost will be charged
