Quadra Island B&B
Discovery Islands Lodge is located on the waterfront just beyond Main Lakes Provincial Park on Quadra Island near Vancouver Island.

Set in the remote wilderness part of north Quadra Island, Discovery Islands Lodge is near the end of the Surge Narrows road, a 22 km drive from the nearest serviced community at Heriot Bay.

The LivingroomWe are committed to being part of the global effort to reduce greenhouse gases. We have a gas generator for special needs, but we do our best to generate most of our power from solar and wind renewable sources. This preserves the quiet ambience of our incredibly beautiful location. It also means we have enough, but limited, electricity for lights and appliances.

Please come prepared for staying with us:

Bring your sleeping bag. Limited energy means we use A bedroom
washing machine & line-dry linens in fresh air. Beds at our Quadra Island B&B kayak hostel come with only a bottom sheet and covered pillow. We do have good clean sleeping bags available for rent at modest cost.

Bring a flashlight. Rooms have electric lighting, but hallways and outside areas may be dimly lit. Long summer days provide sunlight until well past 9:00 PM; by late August and September darkness comes earlier.
A tasty Breakfast
Meals at Discovery Islands Lodge: Overnight room price includes a good breakfast, but we don't offer regular prepared lunch and dinner service. The Lodge has a fully equipped kitchen that guests may share, and some fridge space and/or ice is usually available.

We provide cookware, cutlery and dishes, but you need to bring all your food supplies. There are two very good grocery stores on Quadra, at Heriot Bay and at Quathiaski Cove. Both are well stocked with fresh meat, vegetables, and a good selection of ethnic food ingedients. Both have Deli's and good selections of wine, beer and liquor.

Bathrooms, Showers, & Sauna: The lodge has three bathrooms with toilets & wash sinks. Bedrooms do not have bathrooms in them. There are two showers with hot & cold running water. There is also a wood fired sauna on the dock.

Waste Disposal: Except for compost, there are no garbage disposal services at Discovery Islands Lodge. Solar Powered If you are cooking or camping, please purchase food products with a minimum of packaging and plan ahead to either sort your garbage or take it with you!

Recycling: Paper, glass, plastic and cans can be recycled at the bins near the Quathiaski Cove ferry departure on Quadra Island.

$120 two adults, with 1 child under 14
$145 two adults, with 2 children under 14
$155 two adults, with 1 child under 14 and one child over 14

Rental Sleeping Bag (with clean cotton liner): $10 first day, $5 additional day

Lodge Rental

Summer Season Lodge Rentals. We are happy to host your group or offer a self-serve lodge rental. Specific dates usually require advance calendar planning. Please inquire for availability and price!

Off-Season Lodge Rentals

Self-Serve: $325 per day (2 days minimum) for up to 8 people. Add $30 per person per day to maximum 18 people.
Fully-Catered: We enjoy special groups - please inquire for availability and price.

Conference/Special Events

Discovery Islands Lodge is a casually elegant, spectacular and affordable place to hold an event! For your reunion, wedding, seminar or mini-conference, the lodge is comfortable for 25 (+/-) people for daytime activities and offers overnight accommodation for 18. Contact us for details and prices.
